MERLE ELINOR MACPHERSON (nee WOOD) Surrounded by her family, Merle MacPherson passed away peacefully on December 10, 2012 at the age of 81. She was born on August 2, 1931 to Hazel and Carl Wood in Rossburn, MB, and raised in Elm Creek. "Mac" graduated as a nurse in 1949, and worked for years at St. Boniface post-natal, to retire in 1990. She was a tireless leader in Job's Daughters and Eastern Star, and after she married the love of her life Jim "Zoomie" MacPherson, she became active with the Shrine Temple Khartoum Comedians. They spent many summers at their cottage in Winnipeg Beach. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Jim, her daughter Laurie and her brother Sheldon. Respectfully honouring her memory are her children: Jennifer Troughton (Norm), Jamie MacPherson (Sherry), brothers: Lyall and Joe Wood (Lucille), sister: Margie Corfield (Bob), son in law Lenny Rondeau, grandchildren: Patrick, Christopher, Cameron Troughton, Brittany Rondeau, Brendan, Tyler, Devin MacPherson, and several nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday, December 15 at 2:00 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Home. The family would like to thank the staff at Donwood Manor, especially Wanda, for their care of mom.
