MARGARET DUECK (nee KROEKER) November 14, 1917 - December 12, 2012 In the evening of December 12, Margaret left this world and joyfully entered her eternal home to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. She is predeceased by her parents Peter and Katharina Kroeker, husband Henry, son Erdmann (Ed), daughter-in-law Aurla, four brothers, one sister, two sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law. Left behind to dearly miss her is daughter Marilyn. Also sisters Kay (Horst) and Agnes, several in-laws and nieces and nephews. Born in the village of St. Joseph in southern, Manitoba, she married Henry in 1937 and lived and farmed a few miles west of Altona until 1955 when the family moved to Winnipeg. She was used to working hard and soon after settling in the city went to work at various factory jobs and then did domestic housekeeping work for quite a few years. In the summer of 2009 she suffered a fall that resulted in irrepairable damage to one knee and was hospitalized for several months until she was able to get her room at Bethania Mennonite Personal Care Home. Special thanks to the caring compassionate staff at the Bethania for all your cheerful caregiving. And thanks also to the friends and family who visited. Your company was very much enjoyed. In lieu of flowers, donations made to Bethania Mennonite Personal Care Home, 1045 Concordia Ave. or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Good Morning Marilyn, I had often wondered where your Mom had stayed, having been out of the province for a number of years, lost track. This brings many happy memories back. My prayer is that you may find your strength in the Lord especially as the days and weeks pass. It means re-adjustment of time for you I am sure of that. God has given us the gift of memory and we can hold unto them, but also I would like to say that God is your -Arm that protects, Help that assures, Wisdom that guides, Love that endures, Physician that heals. My sympathy and prayers are with you, Martha - Posted by: Martha Dyck Martens (Childhood neighbor) on: Dec 16, 2012

  • I remember picnics at Fraser's Grove park when I was a child - sitting and visiting with my aunts and uncles - and listening to Auntie Margaret and my other aunts talk about growing up on the farm. It was always so nice to sit and hear their rememberances about their past. Faspas at Omas on Craig Street and time spent together were just a few of my favorite memories of Auntie Margaret. I was honored to be her namesake and, even a few months ago when we were visiting we shared a few memories and laughs of "the good old days" and she imparted a bit of her gardening advice to me. I will always love and miss you Auntie Margaret. - Posted by: Margaret Johnson (Niece) on: Dec 15, 2012
