ALBERT ELROY STRICK September 18, 1932 - December 14, 2012 With great sadness, we announce the passing of Albert Elroy Strick. Albert was predeceased by his parents John and Nellie and sister Gladys. He is survived by loving wife Marion, children Gordon (Judy), Les (Barb), Howie (Rose Anne), Barb (Clint), grandchildren Mike, Steve, Niki, Nadine (Justin), Robert, Brooklyn, Troy, Kirk, great-grandchildren Ryan and Olivia, and sister Irene, sister-in-law Dianne and many nieces and nephews. Albert was born in Selkirk and lived in Ladywood until age seven when the family moved to Lorette. In 1943, they moved to Inwood where he remained all his life. Albert and Marion were married in August of 1957, and farmed since 1966. Albert was very involved in many community activities and was on the Inwood Sports Club for many years. He also served on council for seven years. He enjoyed getting together with his family and friends and also loved to have morning coffee and solving world problems at the restaurant. Albert suffered a major heart attack at the age of 47 and underwent triple bypass surgery. Dad considered every day after that a bonus and spent 33 years enjoying life. Proving that you are never to old to pursue a dream, Albert got into the quarry business in his seventies. A good day for him was being in his loader covered in rock dust. Another highlight in Albert's life was when he was offered the opportunity to travel to Bosnia with the Canadian Forces. While we were all nervous for him to travel to a country in turmoil, he jumped a the chance to go, and talked about that trip for years. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 20, 2012, at the Inwood Hall in Inwood, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lutheran Church Cemetery fund.
