BRIAN ROCHE BURKE May 16, 1921 - December 15, 2012 On December 15, 2012, as per his wishes, Brian Roche Burke, husband of the late Patricia Marguerite Burke (March 16, 1925 to November 10, 2012), passed away at home at the age of 91 years, with his family by his side. Brian was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, later moving to Winnipeg. During the Second World War, Brian enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1941, training in Brandon, Saskatchewan and Edmonton. He was assigned to the 432 Sqdn. in Winnipeg. He flew 36 successful missions over Germany as a wireless air gunner in Halifax Bomber aircraft. He left the air force in 1945. Following the war, Brian had a long, rewarding career with the C.N.R., retiring at the age of 65. He was an avid marathoner, completing the Manitoba Marathon many times. He was a father who gave unconditional love, and a dedicated husband of 60 years. He was a true humanitarian on every level and was greatly concerned about world peace. Brian leaves to honour and cherish his memory, his beloved daughter, Janice Patricia Burke and son Neil. Also surviving are; his loving brother, Maurice and his two nephews and nieces. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to Siloam Mission, 300 Princess Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3B 1M3. A heartfelt thank you to Maurice and his son Michael for their wonderful support during dad's most difficult last days; also to Quency, Dad's constant companion during his remaining months.   • Dear Dad, it’s been 5 plus years since you left, but time has no place with such a loss. I still find myself thinking oh I should call them, the moment passes and it’s a tough one. I miss and love you every day. I know God is with you and mum and you're both in a much better place. I am blessed to have such wonderful memories of us all together.
