Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMERNA PEARL LOEWEN (nee HENRY) December 5, 1940 December 16, 2012 Merna, aged 72 years, passed away at Grace Hospital December 16, 2012 after suffering complications following a tragic accident. Merna was born at Stonewall, Manitoba December 5, 1940 to Jack and Mary Henry of Lake Francis, Manitoba. Predeceased by her parents, sister Valerie, and brother Brian. Merna is survived by her sister Charlene Yelinek (Bob). Merna will be sadly missed by her daughters Twyla (Andre), Marnie (Michael), and Vanessa (Damon), her precious grandsons Quade, Kendel (Courtney) and Nolan, and her beloved step-grandchildren Taylor, Corinna, McKenna, Rosyln, Tiana, Sierra, Travis and Jeremy. She will also be missed by her partner Alan Hamilton, and daughters, Colleen (Rob), Sharron (Jeff) and Merrilee (Eric), as well as her former husband Wendell Loewen. Merna also leaves many cousins, nieces, nephews, two aunts, sister-in-law Ellen Henry, and special double cousin Linda Henry. Merna worked various jobs throughout her career, mostly in the health care field, where she made life long friendships with her contagious fun and often playful personality. Merna was known for her quirky humour, quick wit and impressive resourcefulness. She made lasting friendships every where she'd go. Merna retired in 2000 from Deer Lodge Centre. She was also an active participant in the AA Fellowship which gave her strength throughout her life. Viewing will be held at MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall, Manitoba on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral will take place on Friday, December 21, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Home. In honour of Merna's wishes interment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
