JOHN ROLAND MARTIN (Koginewash Egashi) On Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at the Brandon Health Centre, John Roland Martin, resident of the Dakota Oyate Elders Lodge, Sioux Valley First Nation, member of the Roseau River First Nation, beloved husband of Eva Wescoup, passed away at the age of 72 years. Wake service will be held at the Spirit Lodge on Long Plain First Nation on Friday, December 21, 2012 beginning at 4:00 p.m. The wake will move to the Makoons Centre, Rouseau River First Nation on Saturday, December 22, 2012 beginning at 4:00 p.m. Burial will follow on Sunday. Predeceased by his parents John Martin and Alice Hayden (nee Antoine), one son Sonny Merle Wescoup who passed away at six months of age. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Eva Wescoup; three sons Alvis, Ivan and Johnny; three daughters Dawn-Lorette, Cynthia, and Sylvia-Ann Wescoup (Jonathon Prince); and grandchildren (Sylvia-Ann's children) Londen, Tracer, Legacy, Dramah, Dainley and his namesake Maverick John-Roland; and several nieces and nephews. Our father did many great things. At a time like this it is hard to list all his great accomplishments. He lived a great life in his 72 years and seven months on this earth.
