Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKENNETH BARRY MURPHY September 5, 1958 - December 17, 2012 It is with sadness we announce the passing of Kenneth Barry Murphy on December 18, 2012, at the age of 54. Irene and Bill Murphy brought Kenneth into this world on September 5, 1958 in La Salle, Manitoba where he spent the majority of his life. After graduating from St. Norbert High School as Athlete of the Year Ken started a family of his own, marrying his wife Joyce and having three sons Scott, Michael, and Darren. Becoming a grandfather at the age 35, Ken and Joyce adopted their first grandchild Shawna. Kenneth spent precious years raising Shawna and treating her as his own daughter. In turn Shawna had the pleasure of spending her early childhood years with her Papa . Since graduation Ken had been a staple in the drywall industry and had a work-ethic second to none. If someone needed a job he would always find a way to put them to work. Ken coached hockey, volunteered at community events, and eagerly lent a hand when any job needed to be done. Ken was awarded a community commitment plaque for his generous involvement in La Salle's community. Known for pacing while on the phone, there was no time that Ken was not busy. If not working he was cooking fantastic meals for family and friends, watering his trees, or meticulously renovating his family home. Ken was a fantastic hockey player, and loved to play pool. In the 1980s Ken earned a fair amount of his income drinking and playing pool at the Nob. He was loved by many and his cooking is already missed. We are sure God will have a place in heaven for Ken... may he rest in peace. Kenneth is survived by his sons Scott, Michael, and Darren Murphy, his grandchildren Shawna Reynolds, Damen Hart and Porter Murphy, as well his siblings Brian Murphy, Kathy Wilson, Keith Murphy, and Ed Murphy, all who loved him. The service will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB). There will be a reception on-site to follow with coffee/tea and refreshments. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website. Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.ca 885-9715

My father Robert (Bob) Hasson was Kenny's granny, Sarah Murphy's brother. I was 15 years old and knew Willie (Bill) Murphy before he went to Canada in 1949. I would very much like to hear from one of the family in Canada. Condolences and best wishes to all. Colm Hasson - Posted by: Colm Hasson (Cousin from Northern Ireland) on: Dec 02, 2014

"Murph" was a great friend at St Norbert High School and had many a great time listening to BTO and driving the backroads in the Sebring from St Norbert to LaSalle! I even tried drywalling with him and he could not work for laughing at me and how hopeless I was at the trade. Wow brings back great memories! May God's peace fill all of your hearts and please accept my prayers and heartfelt thoughts for all of the family. Murph RIP!! - Posted by: Chuck McAulay (School friend) on: Dec 22, 2012
