Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMATHILDA (TILLY) MARGARET SOKAL (nee LOWENBERGER) 1927 2012 Peacefully with her family by her side, Tilly passed away on December 18, 2012 at the Middlechurch Home. Tilly is survived by her children Robert, Lenore (Dwayne), Lyle (Lise), Greg (Gwen), Carol (Larry), and Brent, grandchildren Shannon, Sabrina, and Sheila (Joseph) and great-grandchildren Cody and Chaney. She was predeceased by her husband Henry in 1991. Tilly is also survived by sister Myrna and brothers Rudy and Arnold from Wynyard, Saskatchewan. Tilly came to Winnipeg in 1949 from Wynyard, Saskatchewan where she worked at The Exchange Cafe, then met and married Henry. They settled near Oakbank on Springfield Rd and raised a large family while building a farm and farm equipment business over the years. Tilly kept busy with a large garden, canning and keeping an orderly home. In her later years she enjoyed sitting in the courtyard at the Middlechurch Home having a cooler with visiting family. She loved to sneak out to feed the goats at the resident petting farm, even though this activity was frowned upon by staff. Tilly will be missed by friends, family and the staff at Middlechurch Nursing Home. Many thanks to those who cared for Mum at Middlechurch in her final years. They were wonderful years for her. Funeral Services will be held at Green Acres Funeral Home, Highway #1 East at Navin Road on Saturday, December 22 at 11:00 a.m. Viewing will be from 10:30 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Green Acres Cemetery.
