HERTA DYCK It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Herta Dyck on December 20, 2012 after a brief illness. Herta was born on October 18, 1930 in Hochfeld, Russia. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband Willy, son Siegfried (Elenore), daughter Marlene, daughter Astrid, son Victor and daughter Ingrid (Bryan), nine grandchildren Lisa (Wayne), Naomi (Michael), Jillian (Jeff), Tyler (Kirsten), Christopher, Joel (Sashira), Nathan (Emma), Jocelyn (Charlie) and Kaile, seven great-grandchildren Mackenzie, Brennan, Riley, Mason, Dylan, Gryffin, Adrian, and her brother Peter Enns (Erna). She was predeceased by her parents Bernhard and Maria Enns, one brother Bernhard, two sisters, and one great-grandchild. During her early years her family went through many trials and tribulations. During the Second World War, Herta, along with her mother and brother fled to Germany and stayed in Germany till 1948. In 1948 she immigrated as a refugee to Paraguay where she met and in 1949 married her husband of 63 years, Willy. In 1951 Willy and Herta immigrated to Canada and eventually settled in Winnipeg where they raised their family and spent many happy years. She was a faithful volunteer in her church and at Bethania Personal Care Home till her death. Whenever anyone needed a helping hand she was always there to lend hers. Mom also enjoyed holidays she took with Willy. Some of her travels included trips to Hawaii, the Maritimes, Florida, and trips to visit family in Germany. Mom was known for her great baking and cooking. Her happiest times were when the whole family got together to celebrate the holidays or special occasions in the family.
