Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEILEEN EVELYN BARRIE (nee NIXON) October 20, 1923 - December 18, 2012 It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Eileen Evelyn Barrie (nee Nixon) on December 18, 2012, in Winnipeg at the age of 89. Eileen was predeceased by her husband James Torrance Barrie in 2009. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Albert (Marg), John, Bonnie (John) Enns, grandchildren: Christian (Jodi), Natalie (Ian) Schillberg, Chelsea, Dana (Ryan) and great grandson Liam. Eileen was born and raised in Ottawa. She met her husband, Jim, during the war when her family decided to take in boarders to help the war effort. In 1945, she moved to Winnipeg as a war bride. They built a home in Riverview where they raised their three children and were active members of the community. Mom was a member of the Riverview Community Center and Riverview United Church. She spent many happy summers at the family cottage at Malachi, Ontario, and winters travelling to warmer places. A funeral service will be held Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 11: 00 A.M. at Klassen Funeral Home, 1897 Henderson Hwy.
