Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCATHERINE LONG (nee WHELAN) Born October 18, 1918 in County Galway, Ireland, passed peacefully in her sleep Sunday, December 23, 2012 at Tudor House Personal Care Home in Selkirk, Manitoba at the age of 94 years. Mom married the love of her life, Harry (Red) Long, in 1945 in England and came to Canada as a war bride in 1946, and lived in Winnipeg til Dad's passing in 2007. She is survived by her son Brian (Mary-Anne) of Lac du Bonnet; her daughter Josie Gaida (Roger) of Gimli, and numerous family in Canada and Ireland. Funeral services will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home Friday, January 4, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. The family wishes to thank the staff of Woodland Courts and Tudor House in Selkirk for their compassionate care.
