DENNIS STEINKE It is with profound sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of Dennis Melford Steinke, a father, son, brother and friend on December, 24, 2012, at Seven Oaks Hospital. He was predeceased by his mother Doreen and many other family members. Dennis was born on September 21, 1959, in Winnipeg and was raised in St. Andrews, Manitoba. Recently, he and Linda purchased a cottage and were looking forward to spending time there with the boys. He also had a love for cars and thoroughly enjoyed Sunday cruise nights. Dennis will be remembered for his infectious humor, wit and welcoming personality. Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 6088 PTH 9A (South of Selkirk). Interment will follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. • My condolences to his family. I fondly remember his sense of humor and how gregarious he was. There was always someone he knew no matter where he was. Some of his gregariousness has rubbed off on me and I thank you Dennis. Again my heartfelt sympathies to all his family. - Posted by: Ann Steinke (co-worker @ Perimeter Air) on: Jan 23, 2013

  • Dennis was my best friend all through St. Andrews school. Sadly I later moved away and lost contact with him. My best memory is at a wedding in Rossdale Hall and near the end we swiped a roaster of turkey and drove around the perimeter of Winnipeg until the morning. We felt bad the next day so returned the clean empty roaster and apologized. I will miss you "lil green alligator". - Posted by: Darrel Feledechuk (Old Friend) on: Jan 18, 2013

  • As we all mourn the sudden loss of Dennis we not only think about his whole family but especially about his father, uncle Malford and his partner Linda as our prayers go out to them. At this time of loss let's remember the laughter of Dennis and the great and giving heart that he had. Let's also embrace the knowledge to know that he is now at peace with his mom and to know he does not have to experience the pain here any longer. Let's think about the great smile on his and his mother's face as with God on Christmas Eve they were to hold hands once again. Linda as an old childhood friend I know of the great heart you have as well and I know how happy you and Dennis made one another. My deepest condolences and prayers go out to you and the boys at this most tragic time. May you remember that as our loved ones leave us from here that they are never gone as long as there is someone left to remember and when there is no one left to remember anymore it no longer matters as we are all together with each other once again. - Posted by: Sid Schoenborn (Cousin) on: Dec 31, 2012
