  • Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Auntie Joy was a very inspirational person with her crafts, knitting and helping many organizations. She also made some awesome cookies. We will miss her dearly. Sorry I will miss the memorial service as I am in Ottawa but we will be thinking of Aunt Joy and family. We were glad to have seen the touching tribute to Aunt Joy on CTV just a few weeks ago. • My heartfelt condolences to Kit, Pam and family. It was a blessing to know Joy who found so much pleasure in giving selflessly to those less fortunate. There was no one like Joy and there never will be again. I will miss your smile, the twinkle in your eyes and that infectious laugh. You were an inspiration to all who knew you. • Aunty Joy truly had a name that she lived up to. Her sister Nancy we were very close to growing up as Aunty Roz was our god mother. When Aunty Nancy passed on, Aunty Joy seemed to take the reins. We had gotten to know, and love her a lot. She would knit us mittens and blankets for charities, and always have her door open for us to come over for tea. We will greatly miss her. We hope to be there at the memorial. She is up in heaven in a better and safer place without pain or sorrow. She is with her sisters and parents and Aunty Roz. God bless you, her family, with strength and ongoing love for each other. - Posted by: Ken and Cynthia Slapinski(Croll) (extended family) on: Dec 30, 2012

  • Joy and I met many years ago when the Thompson family was very active in the Girl Guiding Movement in Sturgeon Creek. St. James. She was my brown Owl's sister and when she got married I was with a group of girls that formed an arch for her to walk through just outside the door of the church. In our uniforms of course. My condolences to all the family. Your mom was a lovely person and I know she will be lovingly missed by all who knew her. - Posted by: Joy Snarr (Old friend) on: Dec 29, 2012
