DIANE FRIESEN We are sad to announce the passing of our mom, grandma, and wife Diane Friesen on January 3, 2013 at the age of 63. She leaves behind her husband Dick, her son Dale Friesen and daughter Dawn (Friesen) Prymych, her son-in-law Mike Prymych and daughter-in-law Fern Friesen. She leaves her grandkids Joshua, Brayden, and Meadow Prymych, and Liam Friesen. She also leaves behind her mother Kate Smadella, her sisters Sharon, Jo-Ann, and Valerie, her brothers Gordon, Ernie, and Brad, and is predeceased by her father John Smadella. Diane is a wonderful, loving, compassionate woman. She is strong and willing to help out others. There are a lot of things we can say about Diane. She is a beautiful person and she loved to smile and laugh. She loved to be with her family and hang out with friends. She loved music and working outside. She also liked flowers and plants. She loved going for walks, especially in the summertime. Diane was born in Ste. Rose du Lac. She lived in Moosebay where her family had a farm. She also had farmed in Rorketon with her husband for nine years. They moved to Steinbach and she worked at the Bethesda Hospital until retiring in 2009. She will be missed by all of her family and friends. We all love her and she will be truly missed. We would like to thank all the nursing staff, health care aides, and Dr. Mark Duerksen for being so kind and compassionate. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 11 at 11:00 a.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Dr., Steinbach. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 1160-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
