KATHERINA KRAHN (nee MARTENS) With her son Bill at her side, Mom passed away in the early morning of January 5, 2013 at the Menno Home in Grunthal, Manitoba. She will be fondly remembered by her daughters, Kathy Schellenberg (Henry), Agnes, and Marie and sons Abe (Lorna), Peter (Alice), John (Sally), Bill (Evelyn), Art, and Dennis (Cathy); grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister Agnes Fehr, nephews, nieces, family friends Elaine Stott Krahn and Raj Raichura. She was predeceased by her husband Abraham on February 8, 1998, her parents, her sisters (Margaret, Mary and Agatha), brothers (Peter, Jacob, Cornelius, John and Frank), her two grandchildren Erika and Eloise and daughter-in-law Joyce. Katherina was born on her parent's farmstead east of Grunthal on August 24, 1918. She was baptized in the Grunthal Chortizer Church in June 1936 and married Abraham Krahn in October of the same year. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 10 at the Bergthaler Church in Grunthal at 2:00 p.m. with viewing prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Grunthal Cemetery.
