GORDON SINCLAIR PIRT
Born: Dec 14, 1954
Date of Passing: Jan 05, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGORDON SINCLAIR PIRT December 14, 1954 - January 5, 2013 It is with deep sadness the family announces the sudden passing of our son and brother Gordon Pirt. Gordon was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and lived in St. James. Gordon served with distinction for 40 years with ImagineAbility and its predessor companies. Born with special needs, his great satisfaction was the independence of living on his own. Gord loved being with family and friends, and being on the phone with them if he couldn't be with them. He looked forward to spending time with all of us, whether in our homes, or at Twin Lakes Beach on Lake Manitoba, or on vacation in Alberta and beyond. Gord enjoyed going to parties and socials with his work mates, and particularly appreciated his outings with his good friends Rob McDonald and family, and Al McDermid. What we all remember most is the twinkle in his eyes and his ready laugh. Gordon will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Lois Pirt: brother Robert and sister-in-law Cindy, and brother Murray and sister-in-law Kari: and his many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Winnserv Inc 101-960 Portage Ave. Winnipeg R3G 0R4, or a charity of your choice. A celebration of Gordon's life will be held 7:00 p.m. on January 10 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home 4000 Portage Ave. ph. 204-885-9715. Cremation has taken place prior to service.

We were unable to attend Gord's Celebration of Life due to Travel Commitments. We would like to give his family our deepest sympathy as we considered Gord one of the finest people we have had the pleasure to know. He truly was one of our best friends. We recently watched our wedding video where he was a groomsman and remember all of our great times at the rink, the lake, trips to the States, fishing well as many holidays we shared together. Our family will miss him immensely. Till we meet again Buddy. Rob and Lianne McDonald - Posted by: Rob McDonald (Friend) on: Jan 23, 2013

Aunty Lois, Rob & Murray - I just heard from Mom & Dad about Gordon. I extend my deepest sympathy to you and your families. We'll all miss his enthusiasm and his great outlook on life. I took many things from Gordon when we were together - one stands out more than any other - his love was always unconditional - he was an inspiration and nothing held him back from doing what he put his mind to. We had some great times with Gord at the beach which I will always remember him as one of the boys! I love you all and my heart is with you. We were quite sad to hear of Gordon's untimely passing. We remember quite fondly his enthusiasm and love of jokes. His excitement at moving out on his own and going to work was such a big event, his enthusiasm was infectious. Gordon and Lois visits to Mom's cabin in Matlock were always a highlight. Whenever we chatted with him, Gordon always had stories to tell and a genuine interest in what was going on in everyone else's lives. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him and remembered as a truly wonderful man with a big heart. Our deepest sympathies to Lois, Rob, Murray and family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. - Posted by: Jeff and Judy McLean (Cousin) on: Jan 09, 2013

Our thoughts are with Lois, Rob, Murray and families during this most difficult time. I grew up in the St. James area with Gordon and his brothers. I remember how friendly Gordon was and his willingness to help out anytime. I can't ever remember him being sad or mad; he spread sunshine whenever he was around. What a rare quality in our society. We need more people in the world like Gordon to make everyone's day a little brighter! - Posted by: Charlene Wicks (Ryall) (Family Friend) on: Jan 09, 2013

I remember Gordon growing up on Winston Road in St. James. I remember how he enjoyed coming to the Big Whiteshell Lake with his family & ours. He enjoyed Twin Lakes Beach very much especially the parties around the campfire at night. Gordon was always a gentleman with impeccable manners. We are so sorry to hear of Gord's passing and our sincere sympathy to Lois, Rob & Murray & their families. THE KLUMP FAMILY - Posted by: Vera (Klump) Ash (family friend) on: Jan 09, 2013

We shall miss Gord's "keep in touch" phone calls, his interest in our lives and his sharing of his joys, his wonderful sense of humor, willingness to give a helping hand and "upbeat" outlook on life. Very much his own man and much loved. If I could describe his motto on life it would be "Don't just stroll through life, PARTY." He DID enjoy life and maximized his pleasures. Gord left a lot of good memories from childhood up to be remembered by his aunt Vera and cousins Dave (Vicki), Jeff (Judy), Sara (Ernie). - Posted by: Vera McLean (aunt) on: Jan 09, 2013

Gord was a near and dear friend who made the world a better place. Gord and I looked forward to socials, attending Folklorma, going out for dinner and a drink (or two), celebrating our birthdays, and the list goes on. Gord remembered everyone that he ever met in my circle of friends and family and always asked how my grandma was doing or how my friend was who called me Miss Warenko. There where several times I told Gord "you are the only friend I have who thanks me for being their friend", and I was truly grateful to have him as one of mine. Rest in peace my friend, I will miss you forever! - Posted by: Kristy Scott (Friend) on: Jan 08, 2013

Gordon was a great guy, and we enjoyed his company. We will always remember his visits- his smile, his excitement when anticipating his holidays, and later the stories of his trips. Dad enjoyed every one of his day excursions with Lois and Gordon. Gordon held a special place in Dad's heart, and Dad would tell us stories of the latest ways Gordon impressed him. Heart-felt sympathy to Lois, and Rob, Murray, and their families - Posted by: John and Colleen McConnell (friends) on: Jan 08, 2013

Great sadness to hear of Gord's passing. We will miss him and his summer vacations visiting Calgary and Shuswap where we would all enjoy getting together. He would be ready with a bottle of red the moment Cathy or I arrived - and would be full of laughter about it and good cheer. And he always couldn't wait to share that first beer with Mark A - his bro! His laugh was one in a million -- came right from his belly that you couldn't help but laugh along with him. Just like his laughter, he was one in a million and we will miss him dearly! Rest in peace Gord! All our love, your Calgary family xoxoxo - Posted by: Cheryl, Mark, Richard, Joanne Madden, Yvonne Hodak, Cathy, Mark, Megan and Mitchell Andersen (in-laws to Rob Pirt, Gord's brother) on: Jan 08, 2013
