JOYCE ANNE LA LIBERTY (nee HOLMES) It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Anne on January 5, 2013 with her family by her side. She will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by her loving husband and partner of 38 years, Ronald La Liberty; her daughters Alice (Mac) Taylor, Veronica (Gary) Dyck, Wendy (Albert) La Liberty, Susan (Murray) Travis, Colleen (Jason) Harder; her sons Joe (Diana) La Liberty, Keith (Karen) Horn, Todd (Sandra) La Liberty; 22 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters Hazel Poudrier and Nancy Krawchuk and their families. Anne was predeceased by her daughter Janet La Liberty, and her parents Charlotte and Christopher Holmes. She was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on October 1, 1942 and spent all of her life in the North End of Winnipeg where she attended Luxton School and St. John's High and then stayed to raise her family. From an early age, Mom's love of animals was very evident. She could be counted on to bring various stray dogs and cats home that always seemed to become a part of the family. Although hardworking throughout her life, her real love was children and family. There was never a time that she didn't have little ones around her, babysitting from a young age and then moving on to establish a family of her own. Some of our fondest memories with Mom revolve around our holiday dinners. As a driving force behind our family, she used these gatherings to bring us together to reconnect, share laughter and stories. She could always be counted on to keep the gang in line whether it was ensuring Dad was behaving or as a watchful eye for any of her children as we grew. All of us understood that you could never pull anything over on her. Over the years her pride in her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews continued to grow as her family expanded. We would like to thank the staff at the Seven Oaks Hospital for all of their support and care for Mom. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2013, at Cropo Funeral Chapel at 2:00 p.m. A private interment will follow at a later date. If friends and family so desire, donations in Anne's memory may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society or the Manitoba Lung Association. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 204-586-8044

I remember Anne from when I worked at Extra Foods on Main & Inkster. She was always cheerful and pleasant to deal with, and it saddens me to hear of her passing. My condolences to you and your family. - Posted by: Logan Edwards () on: Jan 09, 2013

Bonnie an I lived across the street from Ron and Ann and we spent many hours enjoying her company and friendship. She was a person with a generous heart and we had many Christmas parties at their house and we treasure each one. We are both saddened by the loss of a good friend and a lady we both admired. - Posted by: Peter Dykes (Family) on: Jan 08, 2013

Jacques and I will pray for you and your family during this most difficult time. Anne was a very thoughtful and kind person. When I read the part about Anne making sure that Ron was behaving, it made me smile and brought tears to my eyes.... - Posted by: Darlene and Jacques Sorin (Friends/former colleagues of Ron/colleague of Veronica) on: Jan 08, 2013
