Date of Passing: Jan 05, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRANDY JERED SZEREDI Randy was born on June 11, 1988, in Winnipeg, MB, and passed away peacefully on January 5, 2013, at the age of 24 years. He leaves behind to cherish his memory mom Cheryl Dwornick-Szeredi (David Budzey), dad Les L. Szeredi (Vicky), brother Leslie (Jessica Nerger) and sister Marla, stepbrother and sister Justin and Jessica Allary, grandparents Tom and Sonia Dwornick, Les and Eva Szeredi, and Stanley Schnerch, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by grandma Rose. Randy spent most of his life growing up in Transcona graduating from College Pierre Elliot Trudeau in 2006. He was attending the University of Manitoba taking Electrical Engineering and was employed at Shaw as Technical support. He was a sports fanatic and played hockey and soccer for years. He attended many sporting events and was a regular at Bomber and Jets games. He loved the outdoors and could be seen in the summer at Falcon and Big Whiteshell camping, boating, swimming, tubing and fishing, and in the winter outside skating, playing hockey and snowboarding. Randy spent many hours on the computer and built and repaired numerous cell phones and computers. He lit up the lives of those around him and like a super-nova he burnt unbelievably brightly but burnt out much too quickly. His two days in hospital were full of visitors day and night loving and praying for him. Messages of support came in from around the world. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the Green Acres Funeral Home, Highway #1 East at Navin Road. Anyone who would like to honour Randy can wear Winnipeg Jets gear or Jersey. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the immediate family or to Crosstown Civic Credit Union for the Randy Szeredi Memorial Award. There are simply no words that can express how much Randy is missed...our Nephew, our cousin. We have wonderful memories that will be inside our hearts forever, that can never be taken away. I'm glad we had an opportunity to share an amazing trip to DisneyWorld with Randy...Soarin over California together...runaway train through Thunder Mountain...speeding on the Rockin Roller Coaster...making funny faces on Splash Mountain as our picture was taken...and so many more memories to mention. He had such an uncanny and wicked knowledge about computers and screen repair which fascinated me and made me grow on him even more, aside from that positive attitude and his sweet and caring nature. He was the first one to make my Shaw experience extremely wonderful as he was always eager to start conversations. Truly, a wonderful and kind spirit he was and he will be remembered as such in my heart always. My condolences to Cheryl and the family.
