  • A truly amazing women. Loved her three sons with all of her heart. Although taken by MS, she was such a strong, independent women. So much love and care for others. I still can't believe I caught you before falling down the stairs at the St. Vital movie theatre !!!! You are never forgotten and always missed. Love you forever. • I remember Judy as being an awesome Mom, as she had 3 boys to tke care of, even when she was granted custody when she was sadly divorced form her husband at the time, Gary Pedersen. She managed with her 3 boys until she had no choice with her illness, MS to be admitted F.T. to Tache Centre because of her MS battle. We remained good friends, I became her caregiver P.T. until she passed. We had many great shopping adventures, and many lunches that will not be forgotten anytime soon! She was a great person who will always be remembered by all of our family! Your brother, Gary, his wife, Cheryl and her niece, Sherrisse, and her nephews, William and Jackson Stangeland. Rest well as you join Doug and your Mom, Gladys up above! - Posted by: Cheryl Stangeland (Sister-In-Law) on: Aug 21, 2017

  • I wish we could have seen each other more often, it was always great when we would connect. We live on Vancouver Island and in 2009 my husband Glen & I were on a road trip across Canada and got the opportunity to visit Judy and her companion Doug at the care facility. We got to see her interact with other fellow residents and it was obvious everyone knew her and loved her. Judy's life journey was not an easy one for many years but she continued on trying to do the best she could. Her family can be proud of the heart, the courage and the enthusiasm Judy mustered up to get through each day. Judy and I spoke on the phone occassionaly but the best call I ever got was when she called early evening on Dec 22, 2012 to wish us a Merry Christmas. Her voice was crystal clear and she sounded so happy. My Mom was visiting and got a chance to talk to Judy for the first time since she was a teen. It was so special! We reminisced, laughed and ended the conversation with maybe we will see you in 2013, and of course I told her I loved her. I will miss her and I will cherish the memories of her. - Posted by: Nola (Cousin) on: Jan 18, 2013

  • Ah, Judy...we laughed, we cried, we hugged and we argued...and she would ask, "So? What's new with you?...Judy always had a word for all the other residents...sincere, complimentary or teasing...never unkind. Judy lived everyday to its fullest...when we'd (the staff) let her. "Judy! You can't do everything!" Goodness knows, she tried!! I will miss you Judy. My sympathy to family, friends and staff of 2DE. - Posted by: Bonnie Stevens (Retired Nurse 2 DE, Actionmarguerite) on: Jan 15, 2013
