GWENDOLYN ELIZABETH TOUGH It is with very sad hearts that we announce the passing of Gwen on January 5, 2013 with her family by her side. Gwen lost her first husband, John Hanson, to cancer in 1961. She married Walter Tough in 1969. He was her loving husband for 43 years and was devoted to her and their blended family of five children: Judith Joshua and husband Michael, Jill Newton and husband Stanley, John Hanson and wife Marion, Elmer Tough and wife Rhonda, Donna Herold and husband Frank. She is survived by three sisters: Marion Pearce, Kay Eastwood and Joyce Nightingale and her brother William Martin. Her memory is also cherished by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all those who had the benefit of knowing her. Funeral Services will be held at Kildonan United Church, 187 Kilbride Avenue at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 11, 2013. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gwen's memory can be made to Kildonan United Church. No matter how old you are, the memories of your mother and her love for you, even though she is not present in the flesh, will always have an impact on your life. Love your mother with all your heart. Glen Eden Funeral Home 338-7111

Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • When my Dad married Gwen I could hardly wait to call her Mom, I needed her. She did the best she could to steer me in the right direction in life, I thank you for all you did. It could not have been easy as I can only imagine. Mom had lots of little sayings and rimes, here is one of them that stuck with me. Kiss me quick and treat me ruff oh how I love that caveman stuff. God Bless You and Keep You I know I'll see you again. Yours for ever Elmer - Posted by: Elmer Tough (Son) on: Jun 16, 2016
