Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGRET SIGURDSON On Saturday, January 5, 2013 Margret Sigurdson, 81 years, passed away at the Betel Personal Care Home in Gimli, MB. Margret is survived by her husband of 62 years, Walter, sons Brian (Vera) Sigurdson of Gimli, Stephen (Kellie) Sigurdson of Winnipeg, granddaughters Adair Sigurdson of Winnipeg, November Varga (Jay) of Calgary and great-grandson Brody Varga of Calgary, sister Sina Finley of Gimli, sister-in-law Mabel Tinguley (Roger) of Gimli, and many nieces and nephews in both Gimli and Saskatoon, SK. Margret was predeceased by her parents August and Jonina Eliason, sisters Hedy Hendy 2002 and Nona Maceachren 2004 and daughter Ingrid Sigurdson in 2008. Margret was born on August 14, 1931 in Arnes, MB and was the second of four daughters in the Eliason family. Margret and Walter married on May 19, 1950 during the height of the 1950 flood. Margret decided to move to Winnipeg in 1966 and found a home on Spruce Street. This home became the site of many family gatherings, with Mom leading them all. Mom will always be remembered for her love for playing Lotto 649 and her book of numbers and her arguments over politics, her Joy dish soap and Beer shampoo, her Christmas Vinatarta but most especially her love for her family. We Will Always Hold You in Our Heart. A remembrance honouring Margret's life will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the Johnson Hall, 94 1st Avenue, Gimli, MB at 2:00 p.m. Thank you to all the staff at the Betel Personal Care Home for the great care they took of Margret over the years, especially these last few weeks. I met Margret when my Mother also was on the second floor at the Betel in Gimli, unfortunately my Mother passed July 8,2011. Each time we would visit Mom, I would pop next door to the other room and there would be dear, sweet Margret sitting just to the left of the double doors and I would smile at her and tell her how beautiful she looked and hold her hand and tell her I hope she was having a lovely day. Some days she would give me a little smile and her eyes were focused on me and I told her that I loved her and that we would be back. My heart is very saddened today as there were a number of "MY LITTLE FRIENDS" who I loved to stop and say hello to and spend a few minutes with and now Margret is the last one, and she was so very very special to me. There were some days she looked right into my eyes and I felt so connected with her. I only met her husband once as he went on Saturdays and we usually went to visit on Sundays and he was such a lovely man and so devoted to her. Margret, may your journey "HOME" be smooth as you greet Jesus and any loved ones who have been called "HOME" before and May God Bless You and Your Family Now and Always.
