THOMAS W. REES Peacefully at his home January 8, 2013, Tom passed away. Tom was born in Winnipeg, September 10, 1931 and lived in East Kildonan all his life. Predeceased by his infant daughter Marilyn, his mother and father Kathleen and Alf and his beloved daughter Lisa, we expect he is with them again. Tom leaves behind his beloved wife Betty, daughters Juli Rees, Tracy Boles (Dennis), and Andrea (Darren) Bergen, as well as grandchildren Aimey (Calvin), Erin (Ryan), Stephanie (Chris), Rees (Andrea), Kyla (Adam), Grant, Haley, TJ (Melissa), Krystyl (Keith) and Drew. Tom also enjoyed great-grandchildren Riley, Wizzie, Brooklyn, Lincoln, and Tessa. Tom will also be missed by son-in-law Mark (Lisa). Tom met Betty in 1946 and they were married June 9, 1950. Tom and Betty went on to spend the next 65 years as inseparable soul mates. Tom led a colourful and interesting life and made many lifelong friends along the way. He had many hobbies including flying and target shooting, going on to achieving his pilots license and being honoured with the title of Grand Master Pistol champion of Manitoba. One of his favourite sayings was if you are going to do something, you've got to do it right. Tom worked for the C.P. Railway and enjoyed 38 years of employment there before going on to his retirement life in 1986. Tom felt blessed to be able to retire at 55. He remained very active in his retirement years and enjoyed optimal health. Tom loved to travel and he and Betty enjoyed many trips together. Sincere and deepest Thanks to the paramedics and police who tried valiantly to save our Dad. At Tom's request there will not be a service but we ask that you all remember him in your own way. Remember him by doing something kind for someone else. We will remember and miss you always but we are so glad you and Lisa are together again. Until we meet again in heaven.
