LAURETTE LAGASSE-LAFRENIERE (nee VERRIER) September 18, 1941 - January 10, 2013 It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Laurette, a wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend to many, on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at the age of 71, after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was predeceased by Philias Lagasse, her parents Jacob Verrier and Jeanne (Laurin), her brother Henry and her brother-in-law Roger. She is survived by her husband Andy Lafreniere, her daughter Susanne Nadeau (Pierre), her son Luc (Linda), her daughter Simone (Mark), her daughter Kim Lohr (Glenn) and her grandchildren Ashlee (Andrew), Yves (Gabrielle), Justin (Sarah), Brianne (Mark), Dylan, Cole, Joel (Judy), Jozanne (Dan), Michel, Stacey (Len), Crystal (Chris) and great-grandchildren; her brothers Rene (Annette), Adelard (Helene), Marcel (Monique); her sisters Cathy (Roz), Jeanne, Marie-Ange (Paul), Adele (Martin), sister-in-law Cecile Poirier (Raymond), and many nieces and nephews. Laurette had an immense passion for gardening, golfing and the art of crochet. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She always had many great stories to tell about life and her many adventures. Laurette took great pride in cleaning, and you could always count on her house being spic and span! The family would like to sincerely thank Dr. Darren Reimer, the palliative care unit and Rick of Bethesda Hospital for all the time, care, and consideration. Cremation has taken place. A small service will take place at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Drive, Steinbach, on Friday, January 18 at 2:00 p.m. Ash interment to follow at a later date.
