It was my pleasure to travel, chat, and have a wine or two with Muriel during a tour of New Zealand. She was an amazingly interesting and vibrant lady. I am shocked at her death. Condolences to her many and very much loved family. - Posted by: Terral Coote (Fellow New Zealand traveller and friend) on: Feb 05, 2013

Auntie Mert....Kind, loving, witty, a person who had a wealth of information, an infectious laugh, beautiful voice, and was a pleasure to spend time with. I will cherish our many visits and am privileged for the time we spent together. She was very much loved by me and my family. We all looked forward to her arrivals. Sam, Greg and I had planned to visit her in Yuma this spring and in the summer do some more camping and travelling around with her. The 4 of us had alot of fun last year and many laughs around the campfires. I am so thankful for that time. She loved her family and was proud of all of them. My condolences to her immediate family, the rest of the families and friends whose lives she touched. She will be missed so much and we will all feel the loss in our hearts. "Antie Mert, don't laugh too hard if we don't make it to the Chilcotin". Love and miss you. - Posted by: Diane Taber (Niece) on: Jan 15, 2013

Muriel and I have been close friends for about 39 years. I loved her dearly, and feel like I have lost a part of myself. She was always someone I loved and could count on when needed. We would talk to each other weekly no matter where we were. I will miss her dearly but will see her again some day. - Posted by: Wendy Waslander (Close friend like a sister) on: Jan 15, 2013

As a far flung relative, and one who didn't often get to see the whole Boivin family, my recollections of the entire family, not the least of all "Auntie Mert" is that they always welcomed us, always were happy to see us, always treated us as if they just saw us yesterday. That's my memory of "Auntie Mert" My thoughts and condolences to everyone who will miss her. - Posted by: Graham Crate (Great Nephew) on: Jan 15, 2013

I am so sorry to all of you, for your Loss. I was suppossed to see Mert this Jan in Yuma. Mert was everybody's friend, if she could help you, she would, very kind, brave, servior, traveler, you never knew where she was. she could do so many things, always visiting friends & family, One thing, that stands out in my mind, which I tell everybody. When Mert & I were in our twenties, we went to the Pitt River dyke, she lived in Poco at that time, I had six kids, & Mert had all her kids also. We were chatting, & I looked back to see if the kids were all following ok. I said to Mert, don't look back now, All those kids that are following us, don't belong to us. She did look back, well we doubled up laughing, we were baby factories, OMG hahahaha we had enough kids between us, to start a baseball game, & we still did look hot. My Heart is with you Mert, Say Hello to my son Dean, & my Mom Isabelle & other family that I know, that you know well. Gather all yours too. Have a party, love Always Emilie. xxxooo - Posted by: Emilie Jefferson (Good Friends) on: Jan 14, 2013
