DANIEL RENE JOSEPH PINTKOWSKY Peacefully, with family at his side, Daniel passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2013, at Actionmarguerite (Taché Centre) at the age of 81 years. He leaves to mourn his passing, his beloved spouse Mariette; children; Henri and Nicole; granddaughter Katrina Pearson; sister Hélène (Jacques) Cortez of France; brother-in-law Father Laurent Alarie, OMI, sisters-in-law Sister Lucille Alarie, FDLC, Jeannine (Albert) Courcelles, Thérèse (Michel) Langlois, Alice Alarie; step-children Gilbert Caners, Joanne (Gilles) DeCruyenaere, Susanne (David) McConnell, Norbert (Jennifer Higham) Caners, step-grandchildren Matthew, Samantha, Liam McConnell; the Desautels family as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Daniel was predeceased by his parents Paulette and Alexandre Pintkowsky (France), his wife Raymonde (Desautels), his in-laws Antoine and Annie Desautels, brothers-in-law Jean, Father Joseph, OMI, Celestin and Emilien Alarie and sister-in-law Sister Berthe Alarie, FDLC. Born on November 15, 1931 in Meknes, Morocco, Daniel immigrated to Canada in 1959 and settled in St. Boniface, MB. He married Raymonde on June 18, 1960 and raised two children. He was a devoted husband and father. Subsequent to Raymonde's passing, he married Mariette (Caners) on May 21, 2005. For many years he worked as a transmission mechanic for Wes-T-rans, from which he retired. He enjoyed solving word puzzles, tending to the garden, reading, listening to music, bowling, singing in the choir and whistling. In fact, he could be heard whistling anywhere he went. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 14, 2013 at Saints-Martyrs-Canadiens Parish, 289 Dussault Ave., presided by Father Isaie Blanchette, OMI. Viewing will start at 10:00 a.m. until time of mass. Interment of his cremated remains will take place at a later date at St.Boniface Cemetery. Our family wishes to thank in a very special way the caring staff of Actionmarguerite (Taché Centre) who were attentive to Daniel's needs and comforted him during his lengthy illness. We are also grateful to the Alarie and Desautels families and many friends for their compassion and ongoing support.
