Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDIRK (DICK) HOLLANDER Dirk (Dick) Hollander, beloved husband, father, grandfather and uncle went home to be with his Lord, with family by his side, on January 14, 2013, at the age of 76, at Rest Haven Nursing Home in Steinbach, MB. He will be dearly missed by his wife Judy, of 42 years, son Kurt (Lisa), granddaughters Annabelle and Magnolia; three daughters, Rhonda (Jeff), grandchildren Gerrit, Aleah, Zach, Holly; Roberta (Marty), granddaughters Gerri and Maeghan; Roxanne (Chris); as well, by his twin sister, Bep, her daughters Monique (Remo) and Brigitte (Ernie), niece and nephew David and Danielle as well as numerous nieces and nephews in Holland. Dick was born July 17, 1936 in Wijhe, The Netherlands. At 17 years old, he immigrated to Canada to follow his dreams of farming on his uncle's farm near Portage La Prairie, MB. He later moved to Winnipeg to pursue working on the CN Train. At the age of 33, he met his wife and was married at Calvary Temple where he accepted Christ as his Saviour. A few years later, they relocated to Niverville where Dick and Judy lived and raised their family of four while he was working in Winnipeg as a Production Manager at Kraus Industries and running a business called Because Niverville Ltd., which manufactured wire and cable harnesses. Dick enjoyed gardening and had a large hobby farm which included raising chickens. He was very active in his local church where he joyfully served as an usher for 30 years. When he could no longer be cared for at home due to the progression of his disease, he was moved to a long term care facility where he was cared for with kindness and respect. A wake will be held at the Maranatha Good News Centre, 99 Main Street, Niverville on Friday, January 18 at 7:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the Word of Life Church, 233 3rd Street South, Niverville on Saturday, January 19 at 1:00 p.m. with private family interment to follow. The family would like to thank Dr. Chris Burnett, Dr. Curtis Krahn, the staff at Rest Haven Nursing Home for all the care they provided. The family would also like to thank Peter Braun and Roger Armbruster for their support and care over the years. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local church.
