MARIE FRIESEN Marie Friesen (nee Barkman) passed away peacefully at Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach on Friday, January 18, 2013 at the age of 89. She was predeceased by her husband Neil in October 2012. She will be lovingly missed by her daughter Sharon (Gary), her daughter Deb (Mark) and her son Russ (Myra), and grandchildren Erika, Kirsten, Andrew, Heather, Scott, Andrew, Christine, Jessica and Laurel. Mary was born and raised in the Steinbach area and worked for several years in Winnipeg before returning to Steinbach when she married. She will be fondly remembered for her great sense of humour, her love for her family and her green thumb. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Bridgepark Manor, Home Care and Bethesda Hospital for their care and support. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Dr., Steinbach, MB at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 24, 2013. Ash interment to follow at a later date.
