ALEXANDER TRAFIAK
Date of Passing: Jan 21, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALEXANDER TRAFIAK April 13, 1941 January 21, 2013 Peacefully on January 21, 2013 with his wife at his side Alex passed away at the age of 71. Alex is survived by his loving wife Diane of 43 years, two sisters Stella (Mike) Galowan; Olga Shupenia; sisters-in-law Edna, Helene, Millie, Stella, and Mary, many nieces and nephews and many dear friends. He was predeceased by his parents John and Mary, his six brothers Mike, Bill, John, Peter, Nick and Fred and three sisters Anne, Jean and Rose. Alex was born in Komarno on April 13, 1941 and grew up on the farm. He would go into Winnipeg to do various jobs the last working for Atomic Transfer from where he retired after 33 years service. Alex loved going to auction sales, camping and exploring many of the towns in Manitoba. He loved playing bingo, trips to the Casino, meeting people and making many, many friends. Sadly his health began to deteriorate about six years ago. Diane took on the role of care giver and followed Alex's doctor's orders carefully, devoting most of her time to him. Alex always put on a brave face when meeting people in the mall where he loved to spend time, but his illness grew rapidly worse. He still maintained a positive attitude and joyful spirit until the end. Our thanks go out to Dr. Bshouty and his nurse Lynn, Dr. Halogowski, the Stonewall paramedics and other doctors and nurses. Memorial service will be held on Friday, January 25, 2013 at 12:00 noon at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, 433 Main Street, Stonewall. Burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Alex's name to the Children's Wish Foundation or a charity of your choice. Save me a seat, till we meet again Love always Diane. I remember when we were kids playing in the Winter. We built an igloo and Alex crawled on top of it and it collapsed. The only thing that was sticking out was his feet. I pulled him out of there otherwise he would have suffocated. He was about 11 yrs. old. - Posted by: Michael Kowalchuk (Long ago neighbor and friend across the road on the farm.) on: Jan 24, 2013

It's very sad and hurts to accept that all the adults that I remember, when I was growing up on the Maryniuk Family Farm, are starting to go one at a time. No more pain and no more suffering.
