ELIE LAMONTAGNE Peacefully with family at his side, Elie passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2013. Elie was born in Marchand, MB in May of 1932 to a large family. In 1961 he married his bride Emilie and together they started their new life. Dad held jobs as a wood pulp cutter in Marchand, Arctic Ice in Winnipeg, and soon found his true passion in Carpentry. Coming highly recommended, Dad was always in demand. His ability to transform wood into something beautiful always amazed us. Dad's other interests included listening to country blue-grass music, dancing, travelling, hunting and hitching up his Shetland ponies. Dad was a family man and took every opportunity to spend time with or help his girls. We will all miss our little min-min . We love you. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Emilie (Lamirande), daughters Carol (Garry Shumka), Sharon (Gilbert Baudry), Barbara (Michael Futros), eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and numerous family and friends who will miss him greatly. The family wishes to thank the staff of Actionmarguerite (Foyer Valade) for their care of Dad. Services will be held at St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church, 135 John Forsyth Rd. on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of MB, 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
