Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRIEDA MARIE EHMANN May 19, 1932 - January 23, 2013 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Frieda Ehmann on January 23, 2013, at the age of 80. Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband of 50 years, Edmund; her sons and daughters-in-law Ron and Lisa, Manfred and Lisa, Tom and Eileen; grandchildren, Stephanie, Lauren, Danielle, Andrew, Sarah, Maia and Sean; along with extended family and many friends. She was predeceased by her sister Erna, and her parents, Heinrich and Christine Schaffer. Mom was born in Fabbenstedt, Germany. She immigrated to Canada from Germany where she joined her fiancée, Edmund and married in 1962. Upon her arrival in Winnipeg she worked in various positions ending with Eaton's which she retired from in 1997. Mom loved the outdoors, particularly the many weekends at the cottage in Petersfield where great times were spent with friends and family. It was a great meeting place for many, providing everlasting memories. Both Mom and Dad loved enjoying time with the grandchildren. She fought Alzheimers as well as leukemia for the past many years that eventually got the better of her. She leaves us with a legacy of memories for each and every one of us. We love you and will miss you deeply but know that you will never be forgotten. We are grateful to the staff at Concordia Hospital and Concordia Place whom we thank for all the care they provided to Mom and the support provided to the family. Funeral and celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Annemarie MacIntosh officiating at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street. Interment and reception to follow. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba or CancerCare Manitoba Foundation. May her memory be a blessing. You will be missed Frieda. I will always remember the talks on your front-steps. You were always so kind to my family & especially to my children. When my mom passed away I was really sad & you said don't be sad I'm here for you. She reached over & gave me the biggest hug to comfort me she said now I'm your mom.
