DORIS BUCHY (nee LOZINSKI) March 26, 1928 - January 18, 2013 Doris Buchy, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and auntie passed away on Friday, January 18, 2013 at Portage General Hospital at the age of 84 years. Doris will be remembered for her hard-working attitude and she instilled a strong work ethic in all of her children as well. Her family was what mattered to her the most as she put everyone else's needs before her own. She was always generous even though she often had little to give. She was thrilled to be blessed with four great-grandchildren in the past four years, but since they lived far away she took pleasure in pictures, videos and phone calls. Mom especially enjoyed her trips to Hawaii, Florida, Toronto and Calgary. More recently she spent much of her time watching curling and doing word puzzles. Doris was born in Ashville, MB in 1928, the youngest daughter of Metro Lozinski and Anna Lewiniec and was one of 13 children. She was predeceased by 11 of her siblings. She resided in Sifton, Dauphin, Edwin and then Portage la Prairie for the past 48 years. Doris worked at the Portage General Hospital for three years and at Lions Prairie Manor for 15 years retiring in 1993. Left to mourn her loss are her sons Durwin of Morden, Fred of Portage la Prairie, daughters Evelyn (John Ody) of Calgary, Debbie (Brian Henry) of Portage la Prairie, Norma MaGill of Winnipeg, Janice Buchy of Calgary, grandchildren Shawn MaGill (Laura Vigneault) of Gatineau, Krystal Tait (Todd Kwiczak) of Calgary, great grandchildren Tristan and Océane MaGill and Isabella and Dennis Kwiczak as well as her brother Andrew Lozinski (Mary Anne) of Prince Albert and many nieces and nephews. No funeral will take place as per Doris' wishes. Cremation has already taken place by Omega Funeral Home. A special thank you to Dr. Ghoneim and the Portage General Hospital staff for their kindness, compassion and care they provided for our mother. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sunset Palliative Care Inc. Box 92, Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 3A2, (204) 857-3746. Condolences may be sent to the family c/o Omega Funeral Home, 83 Royal Road South, Portage la Prairie, MB, R1N 1T8, 1-800-303-4621 or friends may leave a message of sympathy on our web site www.omegafuneralhome.com Dedicated to those we serve .
