FREEMAN LEON BIRD September 14, 1956 - January 27 , 2013 On Sunday, January 27, 2013 at his place of residence with his family by his side Freeman Bird passed away at the age of 56 years. He is survived by his wife Teresa Jean Bird, daughters Marcelina (Donovan), Jenny, Mercades (Ashley), and one adopted son Jason Kennedy (Pheobi), as well as eight grand-children Tyron, Faith, Tyson, Tyrese, Marina, Ciarra, Calista and Meya. Also surviving are his brothers and sisters Morris Moneas (Zelma), Edgar Bird (Lena), Llyod Moneyas (Maryjane), Harley Moneyas (Corrine), Leo Moneyas (Darlene), Wilma Choken, Clarice Moneyas (Brian). Brother and sisters-in-law, Leslie Bushie (Burma), Harvey Bushie (Margaret), Garf Bushie, Alec Bushie (Bernice), Raymond Beckett, and numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. He was a beloved husband and wonderful father and grandfather. Freeman worked for natural resources as part of the helitac crew for over 25 years, worked at the Pine Falls paper mill company and Bissett mine. Freeman was a fantastic hockey and baseball player. He was an inspiration to many people and touched many hearts with his jokes and laughter. He was a well known respected traditional healer who has helped many. A special thanks to Dr. Hashem and staff at Pine Falls Hospital. Wake service will be held at the Hollow Water band hall beginning Monday, January 28, 2013 in the evening. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 1, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Officiating Rev. Richard and Rev. Nancy Bruyere. Interment in the Parish cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Moneyas, John Moneyas, Paul Bernard, Roland Poitras, Jason Kennedy, Dennis Sinclair, Morris Moneas, Darrell Hegason, Joesph Moneyas, Henry Hardisty. Pallbearers will be Jules Moneas, Jeremy Moneas, Elie Bushie, Derek Bushie, William Bird, Larry Barker, Ian Bushie, Tyron Simard, Vernon Cook, Sheldon Kent .
