JEAN SPEED (nee PORUCHNY) Our loving mother passed away on January 27, 2013 leaving 78 years of precious memories for our family generations to pass down, share and treasure. She is now with her loving husband Glenn, her parents, brother Frank and grandson Carl Jr. who have been waiting for her. Jean leaves to mourn her three daughters Millie (Brian), Michele (Dan) and Brenda (Colin), grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as brother Walter (Vera), and sister-in-law Joyce. Jean was born in Brandon, MB, daughter of John and Cora Poruchny, on November 18, 1934. She was the apple of her parents eye. She had a brother Frank and later came a younger brother Walter. When she finished school she worked at McKenize Seeds. Then the big day came when she met Glenn Speed. They had three beautiful girls who keep her life fulfilled. In 1964 they moved to Winnipeg and bought a home in the most perfect neighbourhood where they lived for 50 years! Jean worked for Kmart for a while, then she became a Lifer at Safeway for 30 years, where she retired. She spent her retirement years travelling and enjoying every minute with her family and friends until her passing. Her loving husband Glenn, who passed February 3, 2011, has waited almost two long years to be reunited with her. Funeral mass will be held on February 1, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Blessed John XXIII Roman Catholic Parish, 3390 Portage Avenue. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Crohn's and Colitis Foundation, Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of your choice. "Your girls would like to thank you for the wonderful life you provided them." Rest in Peace Love, Your girls For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website.
