Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET PHYLLIS MCNEILL (nee FINLAY) August 6, 1926 - January 24, 2013 It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Phyllis. Mum was predeceased by her husband Andrew and parents Jack and May Finlay. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her brother Ron (Jean), her children; Rick (Elaine), Arlene, Brent (Catherine), Colin (Patti), grandchildren; Robyn, Matthew, Jayson, Tysie, Kaycee, Phillipe, Evan, Ellowyn, Mannix, great-grandchildren; Evey, Damon, Kyron, Silas and numerous nephews and nieces. She was born and lived her entire life in Winnipeg except for a brief period in Churchill. Mum's working career spanned many years working in the credit department at Eatons and Sears. Family was of utmost importance to Mum. Mum was the rock and glue always providing strength, support and advice to everyone in her family. Her grand and great-grandchildren whom she loved to be with were her pride and joy. Summers were spent at Granite Lake, Ontario (Shady Lane) where she developed many long lasting friendships and will be dearly missed. She was very active at Sturgeon Heights Community Centre running the canteen for the Bingo program. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Doctors and Staff at the St. Boniface Hospital ICU for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, friends may make a donation to a charity of their choice in Mum's memory. In accordance with Mum's wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will take place in the spring of 2013. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website. Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.ca 885-9715

I first met Phyllis while I dated her son Colin. We had just seen the movie dumb and Dumber so he'd teàse and call me Arla. We'll, that became my name with Phyliss. She was such an incredible lady and my boys called her "Grammy" and she loved them like they were her own. Loved spending time a the lake with her on weekends and Christmas's were the best because heR dinners were beyond delicious. Always in my heart Phyliss, Arla ❤️ - Posted by: Arlie-Ann Sigurdson (Arla) (Dear friend) on: Feb 26, 2025

So sorry that your Mum, grandmother, great-grandmother, has passed away. I have great memories of growing up on Roseberry St. with the McNeill family as neighbours, in the 50's. Your parents were one of the first on the street to have TV and they would invite us kids to crowd around it. We also did some fun camping/tenting trips to the Big Whiteshell. Water skiing, bonfires, fishing. I also worked in the Eaton's credit office next to hers in the mid 60's when I started my first job. I had a hard time calling her Phyllis instead of Mrs McNeill...I think that was a generational thing in those days but I got over it and we enjoyed each others company. Now thinking of it...I would have been 20 and she would only have been 40! - Posted by: Helen Jacques (nee Coombe) (I grew up at 361 Roseberry St. in St. James, daughter of Wes and Nancy Coombe. ncy Coo) on: Feb 02, 2013
