  • It has been many years since I have seen Elvina but today when I look at her photo it brings back fond memories of her wonderful smile and I can still recall her laughter. I have wonderful memories of Elvina and many fun times with her parents, Coreen, Ron, Jerry & Dennis. My thoughts are with you all. - Posted by: Jan Adolph (Rathgeber) (Cousin) on: Feb 04, 2013

  • I remember "Al" back in the day when she worked at Chief Peguis Junior High. I liked coming into the front office to see Al. She often exhibited a dry wit that would leave me and those that understood her sense of humour in stitches. - Posted by: Craig Sigurdson (Teacher at Chief Peguis) on: Feb 04, 2013

  • That photo of "Al" is exactly as I remember her from the late 1980's and 1990's at Chief Peguis Junior High. Her willingness to help, if you were polite, was gratifying and so necessary as a support to teaching staff. - Posted by: H Hielema (colleague) on: Feb 04, 2013

  • Elvina was a wonderful Sister to Dennis and a great sister-in-law to Linda. Her quick witty remarks will be missed, as will her warm hospitability. We always enjoyed our visits with her when we were in Winnipeg. Her pantry at the house on Sringfield Road was always filled goodies and the coffee and conversation was great! She will forever hold a special place in our hearts and we will miss our visits with her. Rest in Peace and God Bless. • I will miss mom More than most people think If they saw the trials and tribulations That I went through with her growing up. I was by no means an angel And she would never let me forget it. But Lake a lot of parent sibling relationships We didn't get along very well until I matured a lot!! After dad passed In 1999 I tried my best to step up and help wherever I could To help her out It could be something as simple as cutting the grass, Taking her to her numerous doctors appointments or shopping And going out for lunch Or the frantic 2 AM phone calls when she heard something outside - Posted by: Trevor (Son) on: Feb 02, 2013

  • I'll miss her more than most would think if They knew about The trials and tribulations I had growing up with her Being the only son I always felt like I was a square peg in a round hole We really didn't get along well until the years preceding my father's death And after he died I try my best to help her out Whether it was Taking her to her numerous doctors appointments Or something as simple as cutting the grass Or is a panic to clock in the morning phone call which heard something outside - Posted by: Trevor (Son) on: Feb 02, 2013

  • I remember Mrs. Cushman very well while I attended Peguis back in the mid 1980's. I can still see her smiling face whenever I went into the office, her laugh and great sense of humour! I have her pictures in my year books. Neat lady! - Posted by: Jeff Thompson (Student at Chief Peguis) on: Feb 02, 2013

  • One of my earliest memories of Auntie Al was her dancing around the kitchen at Grandma's house in Melville listening to Elvis. She was a big fan! I have many fond memories of the times our families spent together growing up and our trips to Winnipeg to visit. She will be sadly missed by all. Our condolences go out to her brothers, sister, kids and grand-kids. Sincerely, Yvonne and Brian - Posted by: Brian Porter (Nephew) on: Feb 02, 2013
