RICHARD (RICK) JASPER
Date of Passing: Jan 25, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRICHARD (RICK) JASPER 1961 - 2013 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Rick Jasper, age 51, on Friday, January 25, 2013. Rick was predeceased by his dad Donald Elmer Jasper in 1975, grandparents Joseph and Alice Jasper, great-grandmother Mary Kozachenko in 1984, mother-in-law Bernice Rebillard in 2005, brother-in-law Larry Olivier in 1989, and numerous aunts and uncles. Left to mourn is Rick's wife Cheryl (Rebillard) of 27 years, sons Blake age 23, and Troy age 21, one year old grandson Dean, mother Olly and husband Ernie Tallaire, brother James Tallaire (Heather), four sisters; Tammy (Mike), Kimberly (Neil), Connie (Brent), Amanda (Jon), Grandma Vicky, many nieces and nephews, and friends and relatives. Good friends Rick, Wayne, Todd and Jannine, and the guys from the R.M. of MacDonald. Rick was a hardworking devoted husband and dad who enjoyed being outdoors with his kids and with the dogs frolicking about. He couldn't wait to get back outside this summer to mow grass with grandson little Dean on his lap. He enjoyed son Troy's musical talents and singing, as well as working on vehicles with son Blake. As a young boy Rick grew up on the farm with his family, he was Dad's shadow. He loved his horses. So often Mom would find Rick up to his elbows in dirt as he played with his tonka toys in the mud. Rick followed his childhood dream of becoming a heavy equipment operator through his seven years employment with Beaudry Construction operating a cat and scraper, followed by nine years with Dr. Hook towing as an owner operator. Lastly, Rick had been working for the R.M. of MacDonald for 17 years as a grader operator. Rick enjoyed playing hockey for the St. Norbert Celtics, and later on he enjoyed going with Cheryl and their sons to their kids own hockey games. Rick also loved to spend time with his family and friends. Most recently Rick found joy with the arrival of his little grandson Dean, grandpapa's little buddy. Special thanks to Health Sciences Centre Trauma Unit, Julie and Nick at Dr. Hook Towing and family and friends for all their love and support. Celebration of Rick's life to be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 6, Westwood Community Church, 401 Westwood Drive, Winnipeg, MB. Minister Glenn Knutson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Winnipeg Pet Rescue, 3062 Portage Ave. Winnipeg, MB, www.petrescueshelter.ca. Interment to follow at a later date. Cheryl, as You know "Jazz" was truly a "Brother" to me and I find it very hard to believe that he is no longer coming over for a visit. I just hope that we can continue to have you and Dean come by now and again, and continue to create new memories. I'm sure that in time we all will find it easier to cope, however we will never forget what a truly great guy he was. I will continue to love my lost "brother", and remember the great times we shared. I feel Honored to have known him and will never forget! - Posted by: Todd,Jannine and MacKenzie Cook (friend/"Brother") on: Apr 17, 2013

Hello Rick...your dream did come true...you worked your way up from a packer operator to a dozer operator, to a scraper operator and eventually a top-notch grader operator. We were very saddened to learn that you had left us so suddenly. We worked together on many projects and I have alot of great memories and often I look at the photo albums and see your picture on a TS24...riding and hauling a large load of dirt. Rest easy Rick...our sincere condolences to your family - Posted by: Denis & Kim Baudry (Friends - H. Baudry Construction) on: Feb 05, 2013

HEAVEN ONLY KNOWS He takes our loved ones from us, We know not the reason why. We can only comprehend the sorrows in our hearts From the moment their souls bless the sky. He picks them like flowers from a field, Some prepared for his presence, Some without a chance to yield. He'll choose them and leave alone the others. It doesn't matter if the ones he chose Are someone's Brothers,Sisters,Best Friends or Mothers But somehow, when reminiscing, after all the tears are cried, We remmember all the reasons weloved them, And know with all our hearts Why God would want them by his side.
