OLIVER JOHN BARNES Aged 25 years Taken much too soon, our beloved Despite the short time with us, Oliver impacted many lives and leaves behind a void no-one can fill. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten by his loving parents, Martin and Olga. His sister Alexis and brother Richard who were not only his siblings but his lifelong friends. Oliver had many family members in England who loved him dearly and formed special bonds with him despite the distance. Mourning his loss; Oliver's girlfriend Nikki Wysmulek; Amber Anderson and Oliver's daughter, London, who at almost three is the image of her father, along with many, many friends. Oliver was born in Winnipeg the year his parents emigrated from England to Canada to begin a new life. He attended Salisbury Morse Place School from Kindergarten to grade nine and then went on to Kildonan East Collegiate. Throughout his school days, Oliver was always an outstanding athlete. He was an excellent swimmer receiving many medals when he swam for the Manta Swim Club. He joined a boxing gym with his brother and the two of them enjoyed many training sessions and matches. Oliver had a real talent for writing and wrote many beautiful poems. He loved to fish and could spend hours by the river. He also enjoyed cooking and making up his own recipes. People always commented on his smile, one that could light up a room. He had such a contagious laugh and he was just one of those people that everyone liked to be around. He charmed everyone who met him. Oliver is predeceased by all his grandparents, also Uncle Mark and Uncle Johnnie. All of them welcome him home. Until we meet again.. As Oliver would say "It is what it is." A Funeral Service for Oliver will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at the Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. Glen Eden Funeral Home 338-7111
