Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBEULAH EVELYN JONES (nee CLARK) Our dear Mother passed away on Friday, February 1, 2013 at the age of 97 years after suffering complications from a devastating stroke in June, 2008. Mom was born April 11, 1915, in the Springhill District of Manitoba, just north of Neepawa. She was raised on the family farm and attended Clarksville School. Mom had four brothers and three sisters. On March 30, 1935, Mom married our Dad, Charles William Jones in Winnipeg. Dad passed away on October 25, 1996. They had a family of three; Shirley, Diane and Wayne. Mom and Dad were long time residents of St. James living on Thompson Drive South, and Aldine Street in Sturgeon Creek. They also lived for many years on Moorgate Street before moving to Victoria Arms Apts. After Dad died, Mom made her home at the Metropolitan Kiwanis Courts on Ness Avenue. She enjoyed the many activities there especially her Friday evening Rummoli games. During the time we were growing up, Mom stayed home, then later worked in retail at the Hudson's Bay store for 23 years. Her baking, lemon meringue pies and the steamed carrot pudding at Christmas were legendary. She is survived by one brother, Laurence of Vernon, BC, daughters Shirley (Victor) Dyck, Diane Gustin, son Wayne (Georgia) Jones, seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The family express their thanks to Kildonan Personal Care Centre for their kindness and care. Cremation has taken place, and a private family interment and service will be held. Dear Wayne, Shirley & Diane and family. Verna & I would like to send our deepest condolences on the passing away of your mother. I have many a fond memoir of your mother. One is of her at the Sturgeon Creek CC. I was there coaching hockey and following a practice my dad would start flooding the ice and I would go into the club house to get a cup of hot chocolate and more time than not your mom would serve me and most of the time she said this is on the house. Again our thoughts are with you all. - Posted by: Gary & Verna Merredew (Friend) on: Feb 06, 2013
