EILA ALIINA KIMBALL April 6, 1936 February 2, 2013 After 76 years of experiencing life's joys, blessings and hardships, Eila entered peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Saviour. As she drew her last breath, she was surrounded in support and love by members of her family. Eila was born to Viktor and Laura Ranta, one of 13 children, in the Silver Mountain region just outside of Thunder Bay. In 1954, she married and moved to Toronto with her husband, Norm. In 1957, the children started "arriving" Paul, Karen, Brian, Eila and Norma. In the 1970s, Mom began a successful career with Avon, first as a "Ding-dong Avon Calling" representative, then moving into management. She received multiple awards, and the house was filled with Avon samples! After many years, she began selling insurance and enjoyed success in that as well. In 1993 she moved to Winnipeg - her first step towards retirement. She wrapped up her career as a telemarketer with the Winnipeg Free Press. Mom came to know Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour as a teenager and walked hand-in-hand with Him throughout her life. She was actively involved at Albright Church until her health became a limitation. She also enjoyed singing with the Keenagers Choir. A celebration of her life will take place at Albright Church on Thursday, February 7 at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Sam Devine officiating. A lunch will follow. We would like to thank the staff at Middlechurch Personal Care Home (especially Nancy) for their supportive care of Mom in her final months. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Albright Church. Philippians 1:23 - For I am hard-pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better. Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Eila was my very favourite Scrabble partner (Oshawa) and grew to be much more. She was bright, industrious, beautiful and had a wonderful laugh. My life would have been richer had time and fate not separated us. I pray you found your place in Heaven, Eila. James (Jim) - Posted by: JAMES PETTITT (FRIENDS) on: May 17, 2019

  • I met your mom through my grandmother (Evelyn Hawley). Eila was such a lovely lady. Even after grandma passed away and your mom moved out west, we still kept in touch through a letter or 2, and Christmas cards as well. Always looked forward to hearing from her. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during these difficult times. - Posted by: Tracy Gillespie (friend) on: Feb 06, 2013

  • To the Kimball family You do not know me but my mother Evelyn Hawley and your Mom were friends when she lived in Oshawa. They met when she turned out to be my Mom's district manager for Avon. She made a few trips to Sudbury with my mom to take my daughter Tracy back to university. Your Mom and my youngest daughter Hawley enjoyed a few games of crib when your Mom would visit us with my Mom. Your Mom even lived at my Mom's for a while. My Mom passed away 18 years ago this year and I miss her very much as I am sure you will miss your Mom. You are in our thoughts and prayers. You have our deepest sympathy. - Posted by: Karen Hebert (Friend) on: Feb 05, 2013
