Mom is survived by daughters Charlotte (Kelvin), Wanda (Clive) and Candida; grand-children Tess (Tyson), Bo (Kelly), Avery, Calley, Joely and Anthony; great-grandson Serj; brothers Sydney (Shirley) and Lorne along with numerous, nieces, nephews and friends. Mom was predeceased by her parents George (Chic) and Gertrude Miljure; brothers Percy, Richard, Gordon and sister Violet. Mom was born in the Eriksdale Hospital on August 6, 1949 and was the baby of the family. She was raised in the Macross District. Val attended school in Eriksdale, where she met and married Andy. Together they raised their three children Charlotte, Wanda and Candida in Mulvihill, MB. She also had a brief second marriage to Nick. Mom had various jobs; she owned and operated the Pyne Cone Restaurant, attended nursing school, ambulance training and had found her calling as a Health Care Aide at the Salvation Army Golden West Centennial Lodge in Winnipeg. Mom was a great cook. She could make macaroni and cheese taste like a gourmet meal. Mom enjoyed curling, bingo, country music and her band Damn Straight. Mom had a great sense of humour and was a real prankster who loved a good joke. Mom loved to socialize and entertain at her many house parties. She was always happy to say "Party's at Val's"!! Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. In keeping with Mom's wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Mom's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 8, 2013 at the Eriksdale Community Hall with Pastor Bill Watson officiating.
