EDNA HEWITT 1922 - 2013 Edna (Strom) Hewitt of Calgary, passed away at Cedars Villa on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at the age of 90 years. Edna was born in Fort Frances, ON and moved to Winnipeg after high school to make a life in Winnipeg, MB. She was a longtime employee of C.P. Rail and retired after working for them many years. Her love of animals was obvious and she had a special place in her heart for cats. There was never a time that she did not care for one or more cats. Her love of travel came early in life and she explored many fascinating places. Later in life she went to school to learn about computers and started utilizing the web and e-mail to keep in touch with family, her many friends and world events. She was predeceased by her husband Harold E. Hewitt who died October 31, 1980; her younger sister Alice (Strom) Otke of Calgary, AB who died August 1, 2007 and her younger brother Arne Lloyd (Bud) Strom of Fort Frances, ON who died November 13, 2007. She is survived by five nieces and nephews: Caralynn (Strom) Tighe and family of Ottawa, ON; Neil Otke and family of Thunder Bay, ON; Eric Strom and family of Fort Frances, ON; Lindsay Strom and family of Calgary, AB; and Lisa (Otke) Ulmer and family of Calgary, AB. A private family service and interment will be held in Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7.
