WINNIFRED MAY HILDERMAN May 9, 1922 - February 3, 2013 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beautiful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Winnifred, who went to be with her Lord and Saviour on February 3, 2013 at the age of 90 years. Winnifred was born in Tate, SK, the youngest of four children of Charles and Ella Morey. She lived in the Tate area, married the love of her life, Fred, on February 12, 1942. Fred and Winnie farmed in the Semans area until their move to Winnipeg in the fall of 1959. They were blessed with six children. Raising and providing for her family was Mom's main priority in life. She worked hard both on the farm and in the city, making our home a welcome place for all. She was a very loving and caring person to everyone she met or came in contact with, a loving and supportive help mate to her husband, and the best example of Christian love and motherhood anyone could imagine. Winnifred is survived, loved and will be missed by her loving husband of 71 years, Fred, six children: Faye (Jim), Donna (Bob), Larry (Sandra), Stan (Eleanor), Peggy (Neil), Michelle, her 12 grandchildren, and her 14 great-grandchildren. Winnifred was predeceased by her sister, Rosella, and her brothers Martin and Clifford. She leaves to mourn her sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as many friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., Winnipeg on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, if people so choose, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. • My sympathy and prayers are with all of you at this sad time. As all of you know your whole family was a very special part of my life, especially your Mom and Dad. The special times we all had together will always be in my heart and I also mourn the loss of your Mom. She was a very special, kind and loving "Mom" to me. May God be with all of you and grant you peace. - Posted by: Dorrie (Long time friend of whole family) on: Feb 15, 2013

  • Health is the greatest gift, contentment the greatest wealth, faithfulness the best relationship...Budda... Having known Mrs. Hilderman since I have been 5 years old I wish to extend my deepest condolences to Michelle and all of the family at this most sorrowful time. I remember the care and kindness your Mom extended to me while in elementary school with Michelle, her patience and tolerance of us through adolescence, and the wisdom she passed forward when we became adults, wives and mothers. That is the gift that your Mother gave to me and one that is close to my heart and will always be treasured. She is now at peace with no more suffering. Blessings to all of the Hilderman family...love Linda - Posted by: Linda Ducharme (Friend of Michelle) on: Feb 14, 2013

  • My sincere best wishes go to Uncle Fred, all the children, and the entire family. It is said that gratitude may be the best antidote to grief. It is with much gratitude that I recall the love and care that Aunt Winnie and Uncle Fred shared with my Mother when she moved back to Winnipeg, as it brought her immense comfort and joy. Uncle Fred, your warm smile and generous spirit are a role model for me, and I look upon your character as one to emulate. May the Good Lord keep you and be with you, now and always.
