FRANK BRAUN It is with deep sadness we announce the sudden passing of Frank Braun at Holy Family Home on Tuesday, February 5, 2013. Frank was born in Hungary on November 7, 1937. He came to Canada as a young man for a better life. He held numerous jobs until he became a civil servant with the Federal Government. He married the love of his life Thelma on October 9, 1971. They were avid sports fans but their favourite time was spent at their trailer at Spruce Sands. They had a wonderful life together until her sudden passing in 2006. Frank had many health challenges, the worst being a debilitating stroke in 1999, which left him partially paralyzed and unable to speak. After Thelma's passing he came to reside at Holy Family Home where he received excellent care and compassion. Left to cherish many fond memories are his stepdaughter Sandra and her family (husband Bill, sons Fr. Darren and Brent and his wife Kelly). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Family Home in Frank's Memory. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, with Fr. Darren Kawiuk and Fr. Volodymyr Bashutskyy officiating. Interment and reception to follow. In Blessed Sleep Grant Eternal Rest, O Lord to Your, ever to be remembered servant Frank, and make his memory everlasting. Vichnaya Pam'yat Eternal Memory Glen Eden Funeral Home 338-7111

Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • Frank was a wonderful neighbour and friend, always there to lend a helping hand until his stroke. He loved being at the lake and I remember when they sold the trailer Frank had tears in his eyes when they said goodbye. He was such a loving caring man. He will be happy to be reunited with Thelma. - Posted by: Tom & Jo-Anne Roberts (formerly neighbours at the lake) on: Feb 13, 2013

  • Frank was a very special man. Quick to smile and quick to give you a kiss. I made him a pair of mitts for his hands because they could not find a pair that fit his hands after his stroke. You would of thought I gave him a million dollars. Rest in peace sweet man, we will miss you. - Posted by: Doug and Gail Gill (Cleaners) on: Feb 11, 2013

  • Frank was a very kind and gentle man. He was quick to give a warm smile and was always reaching for hands to shake and for the ladies hands to kiss. It was a great pleasure to know Frank. His warmth and kindness will be missed. - Posted by: Tammy H. (Nurse) on: Feb 09, 2013

  • I will miss Frank. I am so glad he had such a good quality of life with us in his later years. He had many friends on our unit, and through the home. Thank you to his nice family for helping us meet his needs. - Posted by: Debbie Gerbrandt (friend) on: Feb 09, 2013
