LORETTA YOUNG (nee KOWAL) Surrounded by the love and thoughts of her family and friends, Loretta Young born July 17, 1942, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2013. Loretta was predeceased by her husband Gordon, parents Bill and Mary, sister Shirley Jadick and grandson Adam Young. She is survived by the love of her children Jim (Judi), Carolyn (George), Robert, grandsons Marc and Kevin, great-grandsons Paxton and Gunner, sisters June, Edna and Judy, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Loretta constantly surprised family and friends with her wit, direction and advice. She was the official armchair quarterback for her beloved Winnipeg Blue Bombers and had a passion for curling. Loretta was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother with a wonderful kind heart and she took great pleasure in the many accomplishments of all her family and friends. Respecting Loretta's wishes, a service will not be held but a birthday reception and celebration of life will take place over the summer. As an expression of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made in Loretta's memory to Siloam Mission, 300 Princess Street, Winnipeg, MB R3B 1M3. 204-586-8044

  • I met Loretta at Health sciences centre many years ago, we worked in totally different departments but always had coffee and laughs together. We also went to bingo together a few times. I knew her when young Adam was tragically taken. She was a very kind person and so was her husband Gordon!! She loved her family with all her heart, I remember one Christmas when she bought a whole lot of Barbies to ship out east, she was sooooo excited she brought them all to show me (giggles)!!
