MARY HILDA HAYWARD (nee QUIGLEY) September 6, 1938 February 5, 2013 Peacefully with her daughters by her side, Mary passed away on February 5, 2013 at the age of 74 years. She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Virginia, infant son shortly after birth, husband James, brothers, Manley, Francis, Patrick, Bert, Norman and sisters, Lucy and Lavina. She is survived by her loving daughters Judith (Jose) Janice (Djon), loving granddaughters Jessica and Raquel, brothers Leonard (Priscilla), Roy (Lourdes), sister-in-law Mary Quigley, many nieces and nephews, special friends Monty and Madeline Asham, Faye Robillard and many great friends from the No. 1 Legion. Mom was born and raised in St. Laurent and Oak Point, MB, moving to Winnipeg at age 18. She worked for Canada Packers then chose to stay home to raise her daughters, going back to work for Family Services until her retirement. Mom and Dad were married for 43 years until his death in 2005. Soon after Mom moved to her apartment and enjoyed her time there until her health declined and she moved to Lions Personal Care Home. As an infant her mother died so she never experienced a mother's love and touch, but she certainly bestowed that upon her family. A golden heart, her generosity and care for others was endless as she nurtured children from broken homes throughout her career. She cherished her granddaughters "as they could do no wrong in her eyes". She never missed a Sunday preparing family dinners where we would all gather. A selfless woman who was admired by many. Sincere thanks to Lions Personal Care Home 3rd floor staff for care and compassion shown to Mom, they really made it her home. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102-310 Broadway Avenue, Winnipeg MB R3C 0S6. A private family service will be held at Chapel Lawn. You only have one mother, Patient, kind and true; no other Friend in all the world will be the Same to you. As we look upon her Picture, sweet memories we recall, Of a face so full of sunshine and a smile for one and all. Sweet Jesus, take this message, to our mother up above; tell her how we miss her and give her all our love. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website. • My Dear Cousins, Judy, Janice and Families, my favourite Aunty will be in my heart always. You were my closest cousins growing up and I will always remember Aunty inviting me for those very hot summer vacations in the Peg. We had lots of 'talks' and giggles over the years. She adored her family and it was nice to hear her talk of all you girls. I could always make her laugh with all my 'pet criitter' stories. Miss you Aunty Mary, Take care J and J, Hugs Shelley and Garry - Posted by: Shelley and Garry Jundt (niece) on: Feb 12, 2013

  • Aunty Mary you were the best kindest aunt ever in my life. I loved you like my big sister. Throughout the years you always had the biggest hugs for me and the kindest words. I didn’t always get to see you as often as I would have liked in our busy world, but I had some of the nicest talks and best advice from you in private and you always told me the right things about our life troubles.
