GERALD WILLIAM JIGGINS 1928 - 2013 On February 6, 2013, Jerry passed away peacefully with his family by his side. He will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 64 years, Margaret, daughters, Darlene Edwards, Lori Drew (Ken), Peggy-Jo Nicholls (Blair), grandchildren, Danny, Jaime, Kevin, Angie, Matt, Jared, Shane, and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents Harry and Margaret Jiggins, his brother Bernard Jiggins, and only son Jerry Jiggins Jr. Jerry was born, raised, and lived out his life in St. James. He graduated from St. James Collegiate and began a successful 40 plus year career in sales, retiring in 1989 from Westburne Amesco. Jerry met Margaret at work and they were married in 1948. Together they raised a family of four children and established much loved traditions. Family life was very important to Jerry and ours was enriched by annual trips to Southern California to visit his brother and family, and endless summers spent at Jessica Lake. Jerry and Margaret built our lakefront cottage 56 years ago and it is still enjoyed by family today. Together, Jerry and Margaret were fortunate enough to create many happy memories with extensive travelling. He loved being with people and his outgoing personality, sense of humour and knowledge allowed him to form lifelong friendships. Jerry loved hockey; playing, coaching and supporting the Jets as a season ticket holder. Music and reading were his passion and he developed a love for gardening in his retirement. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the kindness, care and compassion provided by Golden West Centennial Lodge. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 15, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Avenue. For those who wish, donations can be made to: The Alzheimer's Society, The Heart and Stroke Foundation or Golden West Centennial Lodge. We decided to build a cottage together at Jessica lake. when we found out there was a few lots available we agreed to build on two lots. We and our families enjoyed the years down there. • My fondest memory of my Uncle Jer will always be of him singing and whistling "It's a Small World After All" for the rest of the day, to our embarrassment, on our annual trip to Disneyland. Rest in peace Uncle Jer, the tradition will live on, whenever we visit Disneyland. - Posted by: Joyce Bilbrey (Niece) on: Feb 09, 2013
