LINDA TERESA HANSLIP (DESJARLAIS) September 5, 1948 - February 11, 2013 Linda was surrounded by loving family when she passed away peacefully in Winnipeg, MB after a battle with cancer. Born September 5, 1948, Linda leaves behind a loving family; her partner Joe Koch; children Charlotte Missyabit (Ken), Frances (Don), Florence (Tony), Sheryl and Lisa (Denis); her siblings George, Barb (Brian), Susan (Russell), Emma, Elvis, (Myrtle), Stan, Herman (Laverne), Donnie (Cindy), Doris (Jose), Sylvia, Garda, Greta, Darrin and Curtis. Linda is also lovingly remembered by 24 grandchildren, five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Linda was predeceased by her grandparents Alice and Andrew Sumner; parents Stanley Hanslip and Harriet Paul and son-in-law Jess Poole. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at the St. Theresa Roman Catholic Church in Lake Manitoba First Nation with Father Michel Nault officiating. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment to follow in the Lake Manitoba First Nation Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren Wayne, Jade, Angelo, Harley, Kevin, Mike and Celeste. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Schroeder at CancerCare and the Palliative Home Care Nurses (Richard).   • I remember my aunt as being so fun and laid back. She had a calm presence and looked after and loved her grandchildren so much. My thoughts and prayers were with her for the last few months and I was so glad I had the chance to tell her I loved her over the phone.
