JOSEPH PHILLIP DESCHUTTER
Born: Aug 15, 1921
Date of Passing: Feb 10, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOSEPH PHILLIP DESCHUTTER Joseph Phillip DeSchutter passed away peacefully on February 10, 2013, with family by his side. Born in Fort William, Ontario on August 15, 1921, he married Marguerite Desautels, on August 14, 1945. Dad was predeceased by our mother, his wife of 65 years, in April 2010. He is survived by his whole fam-damily of eight dolls , Marguerite (Claude), Virginia (Jean), Janie (Roger), Louise (Jerry), Judy, Susan (Richard), Yvette (Donald), and Tina Marie, as well as his six sons, Julien (Glynis), Michael (Collette), Roland, Joey, Mark and Leonard (Terry), 34 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Joe, the son of Joseph and Alice, was raised by Metten and Uncle Bill. He is survived by his sister Alice, and predeceased by his siblings Philip, Emil, Alphonse, Albert, Julian, and Blondine. In his very early years, Dad served in the Canadian Military, during which time he met the love of his life. Dad wore many career hats, but the one that fit him best was that of a long-distance truck driver. Spending long days on the road was the sacrifice he made to support his family. He had a tremendous love of music, photography and rug-hooking. Dad had many routines but his favourite, by far, was feeding the flying mice (sparrows). He was a master of crosswords, a lover of books and was a devout Catholic. Dad was a jack-of-all-trades and used these skills to help his kids whenever he could. From Dad, each one of us has learned dedication, devotion and a desire to always do better. The family is extremely thankful for the care that Dad received at Chez Nous and Centre Taché; we had such peace of mind knowing that he was well cared-for and loved at both of these places. Funeral service will be held at Glen Lawn Funeral Home (455 Lagimodière Blvd.) at 10:00 a.m. with Viewing at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2013 with Rev. Fr. Martin Bradbury officiating. Interment to follow in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Centre Taché or a charity of one's choice. The family would also like to acknowledge the kind support we have received from Desjardins Funeral Chapel and Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca. Glen Lawn Funeral Home 204-982-7550
