VERNA BETHEL PEDLAR (FREEDY) December 3, 1929 - February 15, 2013 It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our most loved wife, mother, and grandmother on February 15, 2013 at Stonewall Hospital. Verna was born and raised at Dryriver, MB to Harry and Pearl Freedy. At age 15, the family moved to Balder, MB. It was while working in Winnipeg she met the love of her life, Roy Pedlar, and together they began their lifelong journey on March 21, 1953, when they were united in marriage. Together they raised four children. She was a very loving mother to Janice (Gary), Robert (Lorraine), Lorraine (John), and Carolyn (Perry). Mom found enjoyment in embroidering, reading, jigsaw puzzles, knitting, playing bingo and painting rocks, of which some of these talents she passed on to her grandchildren. She was a very giving person and donated regularly to a variety of charities. Her door was always open, which would often lead to having another kid in the house and another place set at the table. Verna was predeceased by her parents, one brother, three sisters and a daughter-in-law. She will be sorrowfully missed by her dedicated and devoted husband, Roy, her four children, 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grand-children, and her sister Diane, as well as many nieces and nephews. The family would like to graciously thank the Interlake Regional Homecare workers for their wonderful care. A special thank you to granddaughters Kayla and Shawna for helping make Grandma's wish of staying home with dad a reality. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Verna's memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB. We miss you Mom We love you today, tomorrow and always. You will remain forever in our hearts. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website. Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.ca 885-9715
