OLIVER AUGUST EUGENE TODD September 2, 1930 - February 17, 2013 Oliver August Eugene Todd died peacefully in Goodwin Lodge, Teulon with his loving wife, Jean, at his side. Living to cherish Oliver's memory, besides his wife, are his daughters Annette Stewart (Ken) and Amy Johnson, and his beloved grandsons: Dominic, Nathan, Theodore, Levi, Michael and Keon Johnson and Alex Stewart. Also surviving are Oliver's sisters Noella Burch (Les), Della Kochan (Joe), Valery Todd, Marcia Skomoroh, Bev Yurasek (Joe) and Oliver's brother Albert, many nieces and nephews and a myriad of friends. Oliver was predeceased by his parents Albert and Yvonne Todd (nee Robidoux), his sister Thelma and his brother Martin, also brothers-in-law, Cecil Beaudin and Walter Skomoroh. Oliver was raised near Chatfield, MB and attended Cook School to the end of Grade 7 when he was needed to take over the farm chores. He worked as a truck driver in Manitoba, a log hauler in Ontario, a framing carpenter and a cement finisher before settling for 38 years into farming in Malonton. Oliver first raised registered Red Poll cattle then experimented with different breed combinations while growing his own hay, feed-grain crops and all the while raising a family -- two beautiful daughters and their animals (especially horses). Even after moving into Teulon with his wife, three dogs and his "Purrly Cat", Oliver continued to keep some cattle and make hay for them with the trusted help of his friends Walter Klotchko, Bill Dzuba and Pat Gray. Oliver was a very hardworking, honest man who always had time to help out a neighbour or a friend. We will all miss him. As Oliver wished, his earthly body has been cremated and a memorial celebration of his life will be held at a later date. No flowers please, but if you wish to remember him in a special way, lend a hand to someone as Oliver would have done. MACKENZIE FUNERAL CHAPEL TEULON (204) 467-2525 mackhome@mts.net

  • Our family has many fond memories of Oliver. We enjoyed his visits when we were young children as he was always so happy and just a loving person. He was very special to our late mother (Aunty Sally), late brother Richard, and the rest of the family. Our sympathies to the Todd family and Jean and family. - Posted by: Jo Ann Fidler (cousin) on: Feb 22, 2013

  • Dear family, I have many special memories of going to "Uncle Oliver's" farm when we were little kids. What an adventure and thrill it was for city kids to see farm animals. We always called him "Uncle Oliver" even though he was our older cousin. Oliver was my Godfather too and he always had a special place in my heart. May the great memories of happier times comfort you now. - Posted by: Miranda Fidler (cousin) on: Feb 22, 2013
